Welcome to Our United Methodist Summer Camps, where children and youth embark on an incredible journey of fun, friendship, and faith formation. Our camps offer a unique blend of exciting activities, meaningful experiences, and an opportunity to strengthen one's spirituality. With week-long camps tailored to different age groups, we ensure that every child and young person can discover their passions, make lifelong memories, and grow in their faith.

On June 19, 1865, two-and-a-half years after the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect, federal troops under the command of Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas. They brought a life-changing message for the estimated quarter-of-a-million slaves in the state: "All slaves are free" and entitled to payment for their labor.

Groundlings Day Camp, hosted by Being the Church in Long Beach, is a multi-generational ministry that fosters a deep sense of belonging within a supportive community. Through engaging recreational activities, creative pursuits, and plenty of fun, we ensure every Groundlings camper experiences a fulfilling and memorable summer. Our unique approach involves grouping campers into "family groups" throughout the day, enabling them to discover more about themselves, their peers, and the rich tapestry of our collective faith story.
